African Children’s stories are very important for both learning and teaching. Many children in Livingstone, Zambia, have very limited vocabulary and our books have proven to be a very useful tool to improve vocabulary with great fun at the same time.
This week the children were given a chance to chose the book title of their choice and read the whole week. The children were brought together to share the stories they had read, practising correct pronunciation and playing with the read words in any way they wanted.
The children then conducted an activity outdoors, writing the new words they had learnt from the stories on the ground and discussing meaning with the mentors.
