The Ducere Foundation works with local governments and foundations to improve the quality of public education in Africa. Our innovative initiatives move away from the global preoccupation with what students learn to how students learn. The Foundation focuses on the implementation of education by allocating our resources to our programs: African Children’s Stories, Peace Education, School Improvement and Read Out Loud Radio.
As part of the larger Ducere group, the Foundation embodies a philanthrocapitalist approach to its development work. This means that the Ducere Foundation achieves its philanthropic goals by taking concepts and techniques from finance and business ventures. Funded by the Ducere Global Business School’s tertiary business, Ducere Foundation has the conscience of a not-for-profit, and the mindset of a global enterprise.
