Ducere Foundation African Children’s Stories Program was officially launched in Sierra Leone in April 2017 when the Executive Director Mrs Di Fleming visited Kulafai Rashideen Islamic Primary School in Susan’s Bay. One thousand copies of the ACS books were printed to grace the launching which were later distributed to the three nearby pilot schools.
The ACS Program has brought about positive impact within the Sierra Leone community. It has created an awareness in the lives of community members in which the program operates, shaping community lives by acknowledging the fact that they have a very rich culture. It had helped improve the writing and listening skills of the pupils and there is great improvement in upholding the morals and values of the communities.
We look forward to many more collections and expansion of the program across Freetown.
