African Children's Stories

Project Info

Project Description

In 1957 Ghana became the first sub-Saharan country in colonial Africa to gain its independence. The Republic of Ghana is named after the medieval Ghana Empire of West Africa, it shares borders with the Ivory Coast to the west, Burkina Faso to the north and Togo to the east. To the south we have the Gulf of Guinea.

Ducere Foundation came in July 2014 through the auspices of GIPC, Ministry of Education, Ghana, Interior Ministry and the Accra Metro Education Unit, selecting ten schools in the Accra metro area to work with formally launching the Ghanaian collections soon after with the assistance of Mrs Raymonda Quarshie where certificates were awarded to participating pupils.
